The Book People

The Book People was founded in 1988 by two book enthusiasts, Ted Smart and Seni Glaister, on the principle of making books available and affordable to everyone, delivering hand-picked favourites direct to people’s workplaces, at unbelievable prices.

Client Brief

To create a new modern office facility to take The Book People from their current country mansion property to a new location to provide improved services, facilities for staff and visitors and an office design to suit the current shape of the business and aid internal communication. The new office is to reflect the brand of The Book People to provide a recognisable Headquarters space and focus on the company.

The Novex solution

Novex worked from the client brief and, through a series of meetings with various members of the management and design teams and the project manager appointed by the client, refined layouts, designs and specifications to reach an approved scheme.

The works comprised of a Cat A refurbishment for the landlord and the Cat B fit out for The Book People. Both projects ran concurrently over a total period of 12 weeks.

Novex managed both projects with weekly site meetings, keeping the clients updated on the programme, costs and any decisions required. Both projects were delivered on time and on budget.
